Ebell Art Salon Exhibition Programs from 1944 & 1946. The Ebell of Los Angeles was formed as a women's club in 1894. It's purpose "to interest women in the study of all branches of literature, art, & science and the advancement of women in every branch of culture". It is still active today. The Los Angeles Times in 2003 described the building as "the Grande Dame of genteel grace", "a cultural center piece for Los Angeles" and "one of the areas most striking auditoriums".
